Governor Umo Eno Extends Support to Bereaved Family of Nollywood Artist

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State recently visited the family of Abigail Edith Frederick, a talented Nollywood make-up artist who tragically lost her life in a boat accident alongside actor Junior Pope and three others.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, paid a visit to the family of the late Nollywood make-up artist, Abigail Edith Frederick, who tragically passed away in a boat accident alongside actor, Junior Pope, and three others.

 

Expressing profound sympathy, Governor Eno sat with the grieving family members and conveyed his heartfelt condolences. He remarked on the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the loss of a young talent, Abigail, aged 24, who had completed her Youth Service just the previous year and was dedicated to pursuing her passion in makeup artistry. The Governor commended her resourcefulness and entrepreneurial spirit as reflective of the state's ethos of resilience.

 

Governor Eno stressed his personal commitment to providing solace and encouragement to the bereaved family during their time of grief. He emphasized his role as a compassionate leader, stating that he stands by the people of Akwa Ibom in both celebratory and challenging moments. He assured the family of the government's unwavering support and pledged assistance to alleviate their plight.

 

In a gesture of support, the Governor offered automatic employment in the State Civil Service to the surviving elder sister of the deceased. Additionally, he directed the SSA on Humanitarian Services, Umo Ekpo, to oversee the renovation of the family's house to modern standards.

 

Furthermore, Governor Eno assured assistance to the two sisters of the deceased who are currently pursuing undergraduate studies at the University of Uyo, and who were reportedly sponsored by Abigail. The Governor affirmed the government's commitment to standing with the family and providing necessary assistance to ensure their well-being.

 

In an earlier press release issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ekerete Udoh, Governor Eno addressed the circumstances surrounding Abigail's burial. He stated that the government was not informed of the details leading to her burial and directed that her body be returned to her family for a proper and dignified burial.
