Given its proximity to Benin Republic, both the Ogun State and Federal Governments need to proactively develop and harness the island's abundant natural resources.

Daniel revealed that the Federal Government and the committee are formulating strategies to safeguard Tongeji Island, drawing parallels to the loss of certain areas in Cross River to Cameroon. He emphasized the need for spare parts acquisition and urgent construction of a jetty in Badagry to combat illicit activities. Daniel also expressed gratitude for President Bola Tinubu's approval of a supplementary budget to support the military and navy, ensuring transparent disbursement of funds.
