APC CRITICIZES ATIKU ABUBAKAR'S PRESS CONFERENCE AS CONTEMPT OF SUPREME COURT

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for holding a press conference that they believe showed contempt for the Supreme Court. In a statement issued by the APC's National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, he stated that the ruling party was not bothered by Atiku's media briefing, describing it as lacking purpose and merely consisting of lies, distortions, and falsehoods about the President's academic record.

Morka emphasized that Nigerians and the world have been witnessing Atiku's desperation in his failed attempt to become President. He accused Atiku of intensifying his desperation during the press conference by addressing issues related to his appeal at the Supreme Court and making unproven charges against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Morka claimed that Atiku's intention was to shamelessly manipulate public sentiment and put undue pressure on the Supreme Court.

The APC spokesperson argued that Atiku should have known better than to publicly comment on a matter that he had submitted to the court for adjudication, as it demonstrated contempt for the highest court. Morka also highlighted Atiku's animosity towards Tinubu, whom he believed was responsible for his electoral losses in previous years. He criticized Atiku for disregarding decency, decorum, dignity, and national respectability in his pursuit of power, including his recent trip to the United States in search of support.

Morka concluded by urging Atiku to accept his defeat gracefully and move on. He reminded Atiku that Nigerians had rejected him at the polls, and he cannot achieve through deceit what he failed to achieve through legitimate means.
