During a Ramadan Weekly lecture titled "Preparing Our Children for Marriage: Islamic Approaches," Dr. Aisha Adaviruku, a marriage counselor, urged Muslim couples to refrain from engaging in anal intimacy, citing its prohibition in Islam. The event was organized by the Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society in Abuja.

Dr. Adaviruku emphasized the comprehensive nature of Islamic teachings, which encompass every aspect of life, including intimate relations between couples and the upbringing of children. She stressed the pivotal role of parents in instilling the values of marriage in their children.

Encouraging parents to prioritize premarital counseling for their children, especially those nearing marriageable age, Dr. Adaviruku underscored the importance of modeling Islamic marriage principles. She highlighted the significance of faith in Allah as the foundation of marital relationships.

Furthermore, Dr. Adaviruku cautioned against seeking solutions to marital problems outside the framework of Islam, reiterating that marriage in Islam is an act of worship intended to seek the pleasure of Allah.

In addition, she advised married Muslim women to express gratitude to their spouses for fulfilling their responsibilities within the marriage.

Sheikh Shuaib Agbarere, speaking earlier at the event, emphasized the critical role of marriage in societal well-being, stating that the proper foundation of marriages is essential for the stability of the nation. He urged young women to understand that marriage is formalized only through the pronouncement of the wedding ceremony, emphasizing the necessity of adhering to Islamic principles in marital relationships.
