RIVERS STATE NLC ISSUES WARNING OVER POLITICAL CRISIS IMPACTING WORKERS

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has raised serious concerns about the political crisis in Rivers State, emphasizing the negative impact it is having on the state's workers.

The Rivers State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress has issued a stern warning regarding the ongoing political turmoil in the state. The NLC has expressed deep concern over the detrimental effects of the crisis on the state's workers. Following a joint organized labor meeting in Port Harcourt, the state capital, the state NLC Chairman, Alex Agwanwo, conveyed the organization's stance.

Agwanwo strongly criticized the disruptive efforts aimed at undermining the state governor's ability to provide effective governance and urged all parties involved to seek resolution. He emphasized, "We unequivocally denounce the crisis in Rivers State and urge an immediate cessation of hostilities among all political stakeholders to pave the way for peace and progress in the state."

He further highlighted the adverse impact of the crisis on the state, stating, "This crisis is significantly detrimental to us. As workers, we are bearing the brunt of the situation. The state is in a state of tension, and our members are beginning to voice concerns about the unrest and the resulting delays in their welfare."

The NLC's stance underscores the urgency of resolving the political crisis to safeguard the well-being of the state's workers and restore stability to Rivers State.
