Former Aviation Minister and Daughter Arraigned for Alleged N2.7 Billion Fraud Linked to Nigerian Air Project

Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, and his daughter, Fatima, are facing allegations of involvement in a significant fraud case related to the failed Nigerian Air project.

Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, along with his daughter, Fatima, has arrived at the Federal High Court in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, where they are set to be arraigned for an alleged N2.7 billion fraud linked to the failed Nigerian Air project. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has leveled six counts against the former minister, his daughter, and two others.

The anti-graft agency has accused Sirika of granting undue advantage to certain entities between April 2022 and March 2023 in Abuja. Specifically, it alleges that the embattled minister abused his office by awarding a consultancy contract worth N1.3 billion for the Nigerian Air Start-up to Tianero Nigeria Limited.
