Victor Osimhen's exceptional performance as a professional footballer has earned him several accolades and the breaking of numerous records, the latest being the award he received at the ceremony in Ghana.

Expressing gratitude in an online video, Osimhen thanked the organizers for the award and assured that he would continue to bring pride to Africa.

"I am deeply honored and privileged to receive this award. I want to express my sincere gratitude to those who voted for me and supported me. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the organizers of the Ghana Football Awards for their love and support. I truly appreciate this recognition.

As a former player of Lille, Osimhen scored 31 goals last season across all competitions for Napoli, aiding the club in securing the title after a 33-year gap.

He also made a significant impact for the Nigerian national team, scoring twice in a 3-2 victory against Sierra Leone, securing their qualification for the upcoming AFCON in Ivory Coast.

Osimhen's remarkable season led to him receiving the top scorer award with 26 goals and breaking the long-standing record of George Weah, the former World Player of the Year, as the African player with the highest number of goals in Serie A history.

He was honored as the best striker in the league and is also a strong contender for the Best Player award at this year's CAF awards.
