Nigerian Police to Commence Discreet Investigation of Okotete

The Nigerian Police have issued a directive for a discreet investigation into Stella Okotete, who is Bola Tinubu's nominee for a ministerial position. The investigation is centered around allegations of document forgery and involvement in significant fraudulent activities.

The Nigerian Police Force has initiated a discreet investigation into Stella Okotete, President Bola Tinubu's ministerial nominee and former Executive Director of Nigeria Export-Import Bank (NEXIM). This investigation was ordered based on a petition filed by Barrister Aare Oladotun Hassan Esq of Juryman Associate Chambers, alleging falsification of documents and significant fraudulent activities.

In response to the petition, the police action plan includes steps such as endorsing the case to relevant authorities and conducting thorough investigations. The petitioner claims that Stella Okotete misrepresented her qualifications, lacked the necessary banking experience, and misappropriated public funds by approving loans for unqualified and unverified companies.

The police recommended opening a case file and inviting the petitioner to the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (FCIID) to present his petition. They also plan to obtain statements from witnesses, verify Stella Okotete's educational background, confirm her employment prerequisites, and investigate her financial dealings. Additionally, letters will be sent to various government bodies and institutions to gather relevant information.

Ultimately, the goal is to prepare an Interim Police Investigation Report for the appropriate authorities based on the findings of the investigation.
