Assurances of Impartiality: Ondo State Primary Election Committee's Commitment to Transparency

The forthcoming shadow poll in Ondo State, Nigeria, under the supervision of a Seven-man Primary Election Committee, has been marked by assurances of fairness and transparency.

The Seven-man Primary Election Committee convened to oversee the shadow poll in Ondo State has assured the 16 governorship aspirants of an impartial, transparent, and equitable process. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the committee's secretary, emphasized their commitment to ensuring the integrity of the primary without any preconceived agendas.

Addressing reporters in Akure, Omo-Agege outlined the logistics for the accreditation and voting process, scheduled to commence between 10:00 and 11:00 am, with voting concluding by 2:00 pm. He emphasized the importance of a seamless and peaceful exercise, highlighting the familial nature of the contest within the progressive APC state.

Expressing confidence in the party's prospects for another successful term, Omo-Agege underscored the need for unity among aspirants post-election. He reiterated the committee's impartial stance, focusing solely on facilitating a free and fair electoral process as directed.

Acknowledging the marginal discrepancies in the revalidation exercise's membership register, Omo-Agege clarified the rationale behind the process, aimed at ensuring only financial members are eligible to vote. He assured aspirants of the adequacy and accuracy of the revalidated register provided for the primary, minimizing the risk of over-voting.

Concluding his remarks, Omo-Agege affirmed the committee's efforts to communicate effectively with all aspirants, ensuring their understanding and comfort with the electoral arrangements in place.
