President Tinubu Appoints New Leadership for National Insurance Commission

President Bola Tinubu has announced key appointments for the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), with Ms. Halima Kyari appointed as the Chairperson.

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Ms. Halima Kyari as the Chairperson of the National Insurance Commission, NAICOM. This announcement came through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday. Additionally, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin has been appointed as a Commissioner for Insurance.

 

The board of NAICOM welcomes other professionals to its ranks, including Mr. Olawoye Gam-Ikon as Deputy Commissioner for Technical Operations and Dr. Usman Ankara Jimada as Deputy Commissioner for Finance & Administration. Dr. Miriam Kene Kachikwu, Mr. Adeniyi Olusegun Fabikun, and Mr. Umar Khalifa Mohammed have also been named as members.

 

In the statement, it is emphasized that the President expects the new Board of the National Insurance Commission to uphold the highest standards of integrity as they guide the commission in ensuring the safety, stability, and soundness of the insurance sector. This includes safeguarding the interests of policyholders, the public, and enhancing trust and confidence within the sector.
