Fatal Road Crash Claims Two Lives in Ogun State

The Ogun State sector of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) confirmed a tragic road accident that claimed two lives and left one person injured near Iyana Odogo along the Ilaro-Owode road.

The Ogun State sector of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) confirmed on Saturday that two individuals lost their lives in a road crash near Iyana Odogo along the Ilaro-Owode road. Additionally, one person sustained injuries in the incident.

 

According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for FRSC in Ogun State, the crash involved a Mitsubishi car with registration number JJJ854JH and a truck with registration number T12224LA. The cause of the accident was attributed to obstruction and speed violation.

 

The statement issued by Okpe stated, "FRSC Ilaro Unit command carried out rescue operation on Ilaro-Owode route around Iyana Odogo on a crash that occurred at about 0600hrs."

 

"A total of 07 persons were involved (04 male adults and 03 female adults), and 01 female got injured while 02 male adults were killed in the crash."

 

The injured victim and the deceased were taken to General Hospital, Ilaro, and Hosanna Hospital, Ilaro, respectively.

 

Anthony Uga, the State Sector Commander, expressed concern about the indiscriminate parking of vehicles on roadsides. He advised motorists to drive within the stipulated speed limit and observe road furniture for safety.
