In the Dei Dei area of the Federal Capital Territory, there was a tense situation on Thursday evening as a mob attacked policemen from the Gwagwa police division. The policemen, numbering about five, had gone to rescue a man named Mubarak who was being accused of causing the disappearance of another man's manhood.

According to a resident who preferred to remain anonymous, the incident occurred when an unidentified man claimed that his manhood had disappeared after coming into contact with Mubarak. The mob quickly gathered around Mubarak and began beating him, seeking to restore the alleged missing manhood.

The situation escalated when the police arrived at the scene. Instead of releasing Mubarak to the police, the mob turned their anger towards the officers and even destroyed their vehicle. Efforts by the police to gain custody of Mubarak were unsuccessful.

The resident stated, "The whole area was tensed yesterday, and we are not even sure what would happen next. This manhood issue is getting out of hand now; it is time we do something about it."

The FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident and stated that the policemen deployed to the scene were attacked by the mob. Adeh assured that reinforcements were sent, and normalcy has been restored to the area. She also mentioned that the Commissioner of Police condemned the attack and ordered the arrest of the perpetrators.

Adeh emphasized the police's warning against mob attacks, particularly related to organ disappearance cases. She revealed that 14 people involved in the incident have already been arrested, and the police will continue to take action against such acts of violence.
