PREMIER LEAGUE ROUNDUP: UPSETS AND SURPRISES SHAKE THE TABLE

Today Premier League matches brought about surprising results and unexpected twists. Manchester City's unbeaten run came to an end with a 2-1 loss to Wolves, while Liverpool's hopes of claiming the top spot were dashed as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Tottenham.

Manchester City's perfect start to the Premier League season came to an end with a surprising 2-1 loss to Wolves. Meanwhile, Liverpool missed the opportunity to claim the top spot as they were reduced to nine men in a 2-1 defeat against Tottenham. Manchester United also suffered another damaging defeat, losing 1-0 to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. On the other hand, Arsenal moved closer to the top of the table with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Bournemouth.

City had won their first six games of the season as they aimed to secure a record-breaking fourth consecutive English top-flight title. However, Wolves, who had only accumulated four points from their first six matches, shocked the champions with a Ruben Dias own goal. City managed to equalize through Julian Alvarez's free-kick, but Hwang Hee-chan's goal secured the victory for Wolves.

Liverpool had the chance to take the top spot, but their task became more challenging when Curtis Jones was shown a straight red card in the 26th minute for a dangerous challenge. Son Heung-min put Tottenham in the lead, but the 10-man Liverpool team equalized through Cody Gakpo just before halftime. Liverpool's hopes were further diminished when Diogo Jota received two quick yellow cards, reducing them to nine men. In the 96th minute, Joel Matip's own goal handed Tottenham a dramatic victory.

Manchester United's struggles continued as they suffered their worst-ever start to a Premier League season. They were defeated 1-0 by Crystal Palace, with Joachim Andersen scoring the only goal of the match. Despite their midweek victory over Palace in the League Cup, United lacked cutting edge and failed to mount a comeback.

Arsenal's 4-0 win against Bournemouth propelled them to third place in the table. Bukayo Saka opened the scoring, and Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, and Ben White added to the tally. Ollie Watkins was the star of the day as he scored a hat-trick in Aston Villa's 6-1 thrashing of Brighton. Villa's victory moved them ahead of Brighton into fifth place on goal difference.

Luton secured their first-ever Premier League win with a 2-1 victory over Everton, thanks to goals from Tom Lockyer and Carlton Morris. Sheffield United remained at the bottom of the table after a 2-0 defeat to West Ham, with Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio finding the net for the Hammers.
