He was warmly welcomed at the presidential wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other top government officials. According to the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu would observe the occasion with prayers for Nigeria and spend time with family in deference to the solemn occasion marking the end of Ramadan. While Ngelale did not specify the exact date of Tinubu’s return, he mentioned that the President would continue official duties during and after the Eid-el-Fitr holidays.

Similarly, Vice-President Kashim Shettima arrived in Maiduguri on Sunday ahead of the Eid-El-Fitr celebration. Upon his arrival at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Maiduguri, Shettima was received by Borno Deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, members of the State Executive Council, and party chieftains. Security measures have been heightened in Maiduguri and surrounding areas in anticipation of the festive period.
