Bust of International Drug Syndicate in India: Three Foreign Nationals Arrested

The Chandigarh Police Crime Branch in India recently announced a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking with the dismantling of an international drug syndicate.

The Chandigarh Police Crime Branch in India announced the dismantling of an international drug syndicate, resulting in the arrest of three foreign nationals and the seizure of 204.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice.

As reported by the Times of India on Tuesday, the apprehended individuals, Frank Nwokeji, Loua, and Jack David llobi Tochukwu, are Nigerians residing in New Delhi. Loua, in particular, had a prior detention in 2019 under the NDPS Act for possessing 207 grams of heroin and is currently out on bail before his recent arrest for involvement in drug-related activities. Similarly, David had previous encounters with law enforcement and had been arrested by the Delhi Police on prior occasions.

According to the police, the Chandigarh Crime Branch, led by Inspector Ashok Kumar, received information on March 30 that three Africans, known for supplying drugs in Chandigarh, were arriving with a significant quantity of narcotics. It was discovered that the suspects had entered India on medical and business visas for short stays but had become involved in illicit drug trafficking and overstayed illegally after their visas expired.

Further investigation by the police revealed that the suspects procured the contraband from their home country at lower prices and then sold them at inflated rates in discos, pubs, and bars in the Tricity area.

The police stated that the investigation into the case was ongoing, and authorities were hopeful of apprehending additional members of the drug syndicate.
