Halima Abubakar Apologizes for Defamatory Remarks Against Apostle Johnson Suleman

Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has publicly apologized for her defamatory remarks against Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries International, acknowledging the harm she caused and expressing regret for the pain she inflicted.

Actress Halima Abubakar has publicly apologized to Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, for her defamatory remarks made against him. In a statement shared on her Instagram account, Abubakar acknowledged the harm caused by her past statements as "false and hurtful."

Expressing her regret for the pain she inflicted with her allegations, Halima Abubakar sought forgiveness from Apostle Suleman and his family. She attributed her actions to poor judgment at the time, explaining that her apology was motivated by "deep reflection and conscience."

The letter she shared on Instagram reads: "I am writing to you today to acknowledge the falsehoods I made against you on social media and to offer my sincere apology. After deep reflection and in order for my conscience to be in accord with God, I have realised the depth of the harm, pain, and distress caused by my lies."

She continued by admitting her false allegations against Apostle Suleman, expressing regret for her actions, and acknowledging the damage she caused to him, his wife, Dr. Mrs. Lizzy Suleiman, his family, and the leaders of Omega Fire Ministries. She humbly asked for his forgiveness, recognizing that her apology cannot undo the harm she caused.

Halima Abubakar had previously alleged on social media in 2022 that she had a romantic relationship with Apostle Suleman, which prompted threats of legal action from the cleric over "defamatory statements." The controversy intensified in 2023 when the actress claimed she had been pregnant three times with Suleman's child.

However, in April, a federal high court in Abuja ruled in favor of Apostle Suleman, ordering Halima to pay N10 million in damages for defamation. The court also restrained her from publishing defamatory statements about the clergyman.

In conclusion, Halima Abubakar has publicly apologized for her defamatory remarks against Apostle Johnson Suleman, acknowledging the harm she caused, and seeking his forgiveness.
