Delta State Governor Urges Unity and Reflection During Easter Celebration

In his Easter message, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, urges Deltans and Nigerians to embrace love and sacrifice for the unity, peace, and progress of the nation.

As Christians worldwide observe Easter, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on Deltans and Nigerians at large to demonstrate love and a willingness to make sacrifices for the greater unity, peace, and progress of the country.

Governor Oborevwori, in a Sunday Easter message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, urged individuals to use the Easter season for sober reflection on what actions are necessary to ensure peaceful co-existence and work towards a better future for all Nigerians.

He emphasized the importance of reflecting on the significance of Easter celebrations in interactions not only with fellow Christians but also with people of other faiths and convictions. The governor stressed the need to reject bitterness and all forms of violence, emphasizing that the nation's progress, peace, and security rely on good neighborliness and peaceful co-existence among all Nigerians.

Governor Oborevwori highlighted the correlation between peaceful living and addressing societal challenges such as armed banditry, herdsmen attacks, kidnapping, and other vices threatening national stability, urging everyone to embody the spirit of Easter in their relationships.

Reminding Christians of the forty days of fasting and praying leading up to Easter, the governor encouraged them to use this period to rid themselves of anything hindering the country's progress and demonstrate love and purity towards one another and society at large.

He urged Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to integrate the spiritual principles of Easter, including love, peace, justice, sacrifice, and kindness, into their daily lives to promote unity and peaceful co-existence among all citizens.

Governor Oborevwori emphasized the importance of upholding the tenets of faith, such as honesty, fairness, integrity, accountability, compassion, selflessness, and the pursuit of the common good, as a means to strengthen individual beliefs and contribute to societal well-being.

Lastly, the Governor reiterated his administration's commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property in Delta State, aligning with his M.O.R.E Agenda, aimed at fostering progress and development within the state.
