Ogun State Governor Initiates Discounted Rice Sales to Alleviate Economic Strain

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has taken steps to address economic challenges by announcing a significant initiative: the sale of rice at half the market price to residents.

Yesterday, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State pledged to alleviate economic challenges by initiating the sale of rice to residents at half the market price. He announced plans to kickstart the sale with public servants, aiming to restore their purchasing power amid economic hardships.

Speaking at a Special Iftar event organized for the League of Imams and Alfas in Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun emphasized his administration's commitment to supporting public servants. He outlined the intention to sell rice to them at a discounted rate of 50%.

Governor Abiodun elaborated on the rationale behind this initiative, stating that it aims to mitigate the impact of inflation on public servants. By offering rice at a reduced price, the government seeks to restore their purchasing power to pre-inflation levels.
