Family of Late Ondo State Governor Mourns Passing of Dr. Paul Akintelure

The sudden passing of Dr Paul Akintelure, a longstanding friend of the late Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has left the Akeredolu family in profound sorrow and disbelief.

The family of the late Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, expressed profound sadness and shock at the passing of Dr. Paul Akintelure, a long-time friend of the family. Dr. Akintelure had been associated with the family since his involvement in the 2012 governorship election, where he ran alongside the late Akeredolu as his deputy under the platform of the defunct ACN party.

In a statement issued by Richard Olatunde on behalf of the family and disseminated in Akure, the state capital, the family described Akintelure's demise as an irreparable loss, leaving deep emotional wounds. They lamented that his death not only affected them personally but also dealt a heavy blow to the progressive political family.

The statement highlighted Dr. Akintelure's distinguished qualities as a resourceful, highly cerebral, and principled medical professional who ventured into politics out of a genuine desire for public service. He was recognized for his philanthropy and his prominence within his community, the state, and the nation.

The family recalled Dr. Akintelure's recent presence in Owo during the funeral ceremony of their patriarch, where he spent meaningful time with Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the late governor's spouse. His passing has compounded their grief, leaving a void that will be deeply felt.

Despite acknowledging death as an inevitable part of life, the family expressed the profound devastation caused by Dr. Akintelure's untimely demise, describing it as the loss of a bright star and valued ally. They extended condolences to the people of Ikale Land, the residents of Ondo State, the APC party, and their political leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The family concluded the statement with prayers for the departed soul to find peace in the Lord's embrace, while also seeking divine strength and comfort for all those affected by his passing.
