Passing of Oloro of Oro Kingdom: Kwara Mourns the Loss of a Dedicated Leader

The passing of the Oloro of Oro Kingdom in Kwara State, Oba AbdulRafiu Olaniyi Ajiboye Oyelaran, has left the community mourning the loss of a revered leader.

The Oloro of Oro Kingdom in Kwara State, Oba AbdulRafiu Olaniyi Ajiboye Oyelaran, has passed away. According to reports, the traditional ruler died in the early hours of Saturday at the age of mid-70s after battling a prolonged illness for over a year.

 

The late monarch's death comes after a period of uncertainty, as he was previously declared dead during his prolonged illness last year, only to be later announced alive.

 

A press statement by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye, confirmed the passing of the monarch early on Saturday.

 

Governor Abdulrazaq expressed his condolences, describing the late Oloro as "a peacemaker, a father figure to all, and a man passionate about the development of his kingdom." He praised the Oloro's commitment to peace, unity, and the advancement of Oro Kingdom.

 

The governor prayed for Allah's forgiveness and for the late Oba AbdulRafiu to be granted Al-jannah Firdaus. He also extended his prayers for strength to the people of Oro Kingdom and the family of the deceased to uphold his legacy.

 

Meanwhile, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, conveyed his condolences to the people of Oro Kingdom over the death of Oba Abdulrafiu Oyelaran. In a statement issued by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, the emir praised the late Oyelaran's dedication to community and human capital development.

 

Describing the deceased as peaceful, innovative, and committed to community development, the Emir emphasized the significant loss felt by the people of Kwara State. He prayed for comfort for the family, the Oloro-in-Council, and the entire community of Oro Kingdom during this difficult time.
