APC Issues Directive to Withdraw Court Cases Amid Leadership Crisis in Benue State

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken decisive action in response to the leadership crisis in Benue State, issuing a directive to members involved in court cases to withdraw their suits or face disciplinary measures.

On Thursday, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a directive to aggrieved party members and proxies in Benue State, urging them to withdraw their individual court cases concerning the leadership crisis in the state or face disciplinary action. This directive comes amid reports of a purported cold war between the camp of the state governor, Hyacinth Alia, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, which has allegedly divided the party in the state.

In response to the reported feud between the two political leaders, the APC issued a statement through its National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, on Thursday. Basiru announced that the decision to order the withdrawal of court cases was reached at the 146th meeting of the National Working Committee. He warned that there would be severe consequences for any member who defies the directive.

According to the statement, all ongoing cases filed in the name of the party or associated with party matters, involving party members, must be discontinued and withdrawn from the courts within the next seven days. Failure to comply with this resolution would result in disciplinary action, including immediate suspension and possible expulsion from the party, against the responsible members.

The APC emphasized the importance of prompt adherence to this directive by all members of the Benue State chapter. Upholding the unity and integrity of the party is paramount, and resolving internal legal matters is crucial for maintaining the cohesion and focus of the APC.
