Scripture Union Nigeria Urges Resistance Against Legalization of Lesbianism and Bisexuality

The Scripture Union Nigeria recently issued a compelling call to action, urging governmental bodies, lawmakers, and Christian organizations to resist the legalization of lesbianism and bisexuality.

The Scripture Union Nigeria issued a call to action on Saturday, urging the Federal Government, lawmakers at all levels, and Christian organizations to resist the push for the legalization of lesbianism and bisexuality. The appeal was made by the union's National Chairman, Wilfred Onu, during a press conference held at the union's headquarters in Samonda, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Standing alongside the union's General Director, Uwem Udoh, Onu emphasized the potential grave consequences of such legislation on a global scale. He expressed deep concern over what he perceived as a growing acceptance of these practices, which contradict biblical teachings and existing laws, including the Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act of 2014.

Onu condemned the promotion of LGBTQ+ ideology by religious and political leaders, particularly in Western countries, describing it as alarming and destructive to societal decency and values. He reaffirmed the union's commitment to upholding traditional Christian values and principles, rejecting the LGBTQ+ movement as immoral and contrary to biblical teachings.

The Scripture Union Nigeria called upon the Christian community to stand firm in advocating for God's love and redemption while rejecting ideologies that oppose biblical teachings. It urged Christians and supporters of humanity to defend the sanctity of family life and society against what it views as harmful LGBTQ+ agendas promoted by certain individuals, organizations, and agencies.

Furthermore, as a union dedicated to serving children, youths, and families, it pledged to protect their innocence from influences that deviate from biblical teachings. The union emphasized the importance of preserving traditional family values and marriage as defined in Scripture, underscoring its commitment to advocating for the biblical principles of family and morality.
