Former Nollywood actress, Cynthia Amadi, shared insights on the perceptions of Nigerians regarding life abroad during a session with media personality Daddy Freeze. Amadi noted that many Nigerians who seek opportunities abroad often hold the misconception that life overseas is easy and prefer specific types of jobs.

Reflecting on her own experiences upon arriving in the United States of America, Amadi mentioned that despite now working with a Fortune 500 company, her journey was far from smooth. She encountered challenges such as racism and had to engage in menial jobs, including working as an Uber driver and caring for elderly individuals.

Amadi emphasized the diversity of experiences abroad, acknowledging that what may be true for one person does not necessarily apply to everyone. She highlighted the importance of perseverance and seeing initial jobs as stepping stones towards achieving one's goals.

Sharing her personal journey, Amadi revealed that she initially worked as a nanny and later transitioned to becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) before eventually venturing into ride-hailing services with Uber. She recounted facing challenges, such as losing her first well-paying job and feeling uncomfortable in subsequent roles.

Despite setbacks, Amadi emphasized the necessity of adapting and being open to various job opportunities to make ends meet abroad. She debunked the notion that life overseas is glamorous, urging Nigerians to be realistic and resilient in their pursuit of success in a foreign land.
