KANO STATE POLICE ISSUE WARNING AHEAD OF CUSTOMS TRAINING COLLEGE SHOOTING RANGE PRACTICE

The Kano State Police Command has issued a precautionary warning to residents living in the vicinity of the Customs Training College in Goron Dutse. They are being alerted not to be alarmed by the upcoming sounds of gunshots expected over the next few days.

The Kano State Police Command issued a warning on Sunday night to residents living near the Customs Training College in Goron Dutse. They were advised not to be alarmed by the forthcoming sounds of gunshots over the next few days. The spokesperson for the Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, clarified that the training college was conducting a seven-day shooting range practice.

 

CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, in his announcement to the public, stated, "The personnel of the Nigeria Customs Training College, Goron Dutse Kano will conduct seven days of shooting range practice at Hawan Kalibawa, Dawakin Tofa LGA, Kano State from Monday, 11th September 2023, to Sunday, 17th September 2023, from 0600hrs (6 am) to 1800hrs (6 pm) daily."

 

In light of this, the CP offered guidance to members of the public, particularly those residing in Dambazau, Gangaren Dutse, Tumfafi, Kakurum, and Dandalama villages in Dawakin Tofa/Ungogo LGAs and nearby areas. He advised them not to panic but to stay away from the area if they hear gunshots until the exercise concludes.
