In a concerning incident on Friday, a fuel-laden tanker overturned in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos State, sparking a hazardous situation as residents rushed to collect spilled fuel.

On Friday, a fuel-laden tanker overturned in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos State, leading to a hazardous situation where residents gathered with various containers to scoop fuel. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) shared a video of the incident on its official account, showing a crowd of individuals collecting the spilled liquid.

 

Despite the alarming scene, LASTMA assured the public that there were no reported fatalities resulting from the accident. Emergency authorities confirmed that no casualties occurred, and efforts were underway to clear the area of the spilled fuel.

 

According to LASTMA, the incident took place at Dormanlong bridge, heading towards Fadeyi. The agency reported that the Lagos State Emergency Response Unit (LRU) had been contacted to facilitate the tanker's evacuation, with officers present at the scene to manage the situation.

 

As of the time of reporting, there was no update on whether the tanker had been successfully moved from the location.
