Timileyin Ajayi, a 32-year-old man, has found himself in a troubling situation after being accused of murdering his girlfriend, Salome Eleoja Adaidu, a 24-year-old member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) working at Nicon Insurance in Abuja. The incident took place when Salome visited Timileyin's residence in the Papalana axis of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
Following the allegations, Ajayi was arrested and taken into custody at the Nasarawa State Police Command's Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia, the state capital. He was transported from Karshi development area in Karu Local Government Area to the police command headquarters on Tuesday. During the parade, the alleged murder weapons, including a knife and machetes, were displayed.
The shocking event occurred in Orozo, Abuja, where the gospel singer Ajayi was apprehended by churchgoers during a service, as previously reported. He was found with a sack containing the severed head of a woman he identified as his girlfriend.
Umaru Caleb, a church member who shared the incident on Facebook, recounted the disturbing details. According to him, the suspect was apprehended during a Sunday service. Another congregant, who felt compelled to examine the contents of the sack Ajayi was carrying, discovered the fresh head of the victim inside.
The church member was horrified to find the recently severed head of a young woman, who appeared to have recently braided her hair in a fashionable "million braids" style. The discovery prompted the individual to raise an alarm, leading other worshippers to rush outside.
The suspect was brutally beaten by the mob and subsequently interrogated about the origin of the severed head. Reports suggest that Ajayi revealed the victim was his girlfriend, who had traveled from a distant location to visit him. Timileyin Ajayi, in an exclusive interview with Channels TV on Tuesday, responded to questions about the incident, further detailing the events leading up to the gruesome discovery.
