Bayern Munich Suffers Third Consecutive Defeat, Freiburg Secures Late Draw Against Eintracht Frankfurt

Bayern Munich's recent 3-2 defeat against Bochum, marking their third consecutive loss, has raised concerns in the Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich suffered a surprising 3-2 defeat against Bochum, marking their third consecutive loss, a first since 2015. This loss places them eight points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga title race. The defeat follows a 3-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen and a 1-0 loss to Lazio in the Champions League, putting coach Thomas Tuchel under renewed pressure.

Tuchel, however, remained confident after the match, stating that the loss wasn't justified and that they were extremely unlucky. Bayern was reduced to 10 men with 13 minutes remaining when Dayot Upamecano received a red card for elbowing Kevin Stoeger in the box, conceding a penalty. Stoeger converted the penalty, giving Bochum a 3-1 lead. Harry Kane scored a goal with three minutes remaining, but missed a chance to equalize late in the game.

The match saw Bayern take an early lead with Jamal Musiala's goal after 14 minutes, their first goal in over three hours of football. However, Bochum fought back, with Takuma Asano leveling the score after 38 minutes and Keven Schlotterbeck heading in a corner to put Bochum ahead just six minutes later. The match was then delayed for 12 minutes due to fan protests against the Bundesliga's investment plan.

In another match, Freiburg forward Michael Gregoritsch scored in the last minute to secure a 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt. Ansgar Knauff's two goals, both assisted by Omar Marmoush, had put Frankfurt in the lead, but Gregoritsch's late goal rescued a point for Freiburg. The match was also marred by fan interruptions, with Knauff clearing a bouncing ball off the line in the ninth minute of added time.
