In the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election held in Edo State, Dennis Idahosa, a member of the House of Representatives, emerged as the winner. He secured a total of 40,483 votes, making him the APC's candidate for the upcoming governorship election in the state, scheduled for September 21.

 

The announcement of the results was made by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who also serves as the chairman of the APC primary election committee. Uzodimma confirmed that Idahosa had garnered the highest number of votes among the nine aspirants, thereby securing the APC's candidacy for the gubernatorial race in Edo State.

 

Governor Uzodimma acknowledged a mix-up regarding the location of the committee's secretariat, clarifying that the authentic secretariat was the Protea Hotel, not the previously announced Lushville Hotel. Further details on the matter are expected to be provided at a later time.
