Kaduna State Governor, Gov Sani Uba, has emphasized the importance of providing good and quality infrastructure to attract investors and make Kaduna the preferred destination for investment.

Kaduna State Governor, Gov Sani Uba, has emphasized the importance of providing good and quality infrastructure to attract investors and make Kaduna the preferred destination for investment. This commitment was conveyed in a statement sent to Vanguard on Wednesday night.

 

Governor Uba stressed that the construction of excellent and sustainable infrastructure requires skilled project managers. To address this need, he has taken steps to equip top government project managers with the latest knowledge and skills in project control and construction quality management.

 

The Governor has identified leading training and consulting firms in Nigeria and abroad to provide high-quality resource persons with global best practices in project management. Notably, he has engaged world-class trainers, Penhall Consulting and Zoe Talent Solution of UAE, to enhance the capabilities of top project managers in the Kaduna State government.

 

Participants were taken to Kigali for a week of intensive training on project management, project control, and construction quality management. The training aimed to build the capabilities of public service project managers, empower them with skills and knowledge to ensure top quality for all state government projects, and retool them for optimal efficiency in project management.

 

Kaduna State is the first state government to expose its crucial project managers to this level of global best practices. The Governor encourages other state governments to follow suit, highlighting the significant benefits this brings to the quality of projects they deliver. Participants included high-ranking government officials, policymakers, and civil servants.

 

The resource persons and facilitators were experienced project managers and former government officials with knowledge and experience in project control and quality management in Nigeria's dynamic environment. They provided local best practices underpinned by global, cutting-edge, and innovative solutions in project control and quality management.

 

Dr. Baba Musa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on projects, expressed his satisfaction with the training, stating that it equipped him with the necessary skills to ensure high-quality standards in construction projects. Similarly, Permanent Secretary Mr. Habib Lawal commended the training organization for delivering an engaging project control training.

 

Kaduna State's commitment to maximizing value in all projects through practical project management and quality control sets an example for other states to empower their staff for high-quality project impact.
