An Ilorin Magistrate’s Court has ordered that the 13 suspects arraigned over the killing of the Olukoro of Koro in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara, Oba Olusegun Aremu, be remanded at the Federal Correctional Centre. The defendants were arraigned on a four-count charge of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, kidnapping, and giving false information. The accused individuals include Godwin Jacob, Olowofela Oyebanji, Adefalolu Ayodele, Tewasie Francis, Babatunde Samuel, Godwin Joseph, Issa Number, and Miracle Solomon, as well as Abraham Kehinde, Muhammed Bello, Muhammed Muhammed, Ahmadu Umaru, and Muhammed Dankai.

The Police First Information Report (FIR) detailed that one Simon Adeyemi reported the murder of Olukoro to the Eruku Police Division. According to the report, the suspects brandished a gun at Oba Aremu, instructing him to accompany them. When the Oba confronted them after noticing their presence around his grandson, the suspects allegedly threatened him. The Oba's grandson managed to escape through the backdoor, while the suspects proceeded to kill the royal father and abduct his wife and one Mercy.

During the court proceedings, the Police Prosecutor, Abdullah Sanni, informed the court about the motion exparte attached to the police report, urging the court to remand the suspects. In response, Magistrate Monisola Kamson ruled that the suspects be remanded at the Federal Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter to March 5 for further mention.
