The Federal Capital Territory Police Command's Rapid Response Squad 74 recently apprehended a pastor, Simon Kado, his relative Jesse Simon-Kado, and their driver, Muhammad Isah, for child trafficking. The trio was intercepted while transporting 12 underage children – eight girls and four boys aged between five and 16 years – from Nasarawa State to Ogun State.

SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed this development in a statement on Saturday. She stated that the preliminary investigation revealed the children, aged between five and 16 years and all from Akwanga LGA, Nasarawa State, were being trafficked to Ogun State by Pastor Simon Kado and Jesse Simon-Kado, who are currently in police custody.

As the investigation continues and efforts are made in collaboration with the Nasarawa State Police Command to reunite the victims with their respective families, the Commissioner of Police FCT, Benneth Igweh, emphasized that the safety of residents remains his top priority.

The Federal Capital Territory has witnessed a recent increase in kidnapping and bandit attacks, raising concerns about the security situation in the region.
