Even after losing a player to a red card in the first half, the Cote d’Ivoire team displayed unwavering determination, ultimately earning their place in the AFCON semi-finals.

The game saw Dourgeles scoring Mali’s first goal in the 71st minute, but Adingra's goal in the 90th minute leveled the score, pushing the match into extra time. It was during this extra time that Seko Fofana's goal in the 120+1 minute secured the victory for the host nation, propelling them into the semi-finals of the tournament.
