NIGERIAN WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED COCAINE TRAFFICKING AT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

A Nigerian woman was recently apprehended at an international airport for allegedly trafficking cocaine valued at ₹82 crore (N75m).

A Nigerian woman was apprehended by customs authorities at an international airport for purportedly trafficking cocaine valued at ₹82 crore (N75m), as per an official statement released on Thursday. The accused individual was intercepted upon her arrival from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Tuesday.

 

In a post shared on Thursday, Asian News International stated, "Based on specific intelligence, Customs at IGI Airport has arrested one Nigerian passenger who arrived from Addis Ababa having concealed cocaine weighing 5.88kg valued at Rs 82.448 crores in her bags. The drug has been seized under the NDPS Act, 1985. Investigations are underway: Customs."

 

Upon conducting a thorough examination of the luggage, officials uncovered concealed material inside two blue trolley bags carried by the passenger. Subsequent detailed scrutiny of the bags revealed a total of 5.8 kg of a white powdery substance suspected to be narcotics.

 

Following a diagnostic test, it was determined that the substance contained a commercial quantity of cocaine, with an international value of ₹82.446 crore (N75m), as stated in the official release.
