Police have made a grim discovery in their search for the missing poet Gboyega Odubanjo, who failed to show up for a scheduled performance at the Shambala festival in Kelmarsh, Northamptonshire. Mr. Odubanjo, aged 27, was expected to give a reading at the festival on Sunday, August 27, but he never arrived for his performance. The last known sighting of him was around 4 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, at the festival.

Law enforcement authorities had been actively seeking information regarding the whereabouts of Gboyega Odubanjo, who hails from Woolwich in south-east London.

On Thursday, August 31, Northamptonshire Police sadly reported that a body had been discovered during the search for the missing 27-year-old man in Kelmarsh. This discovery occurred shortly before 9 a.m. during a specialized search of the area.

While formal identification has not yet taken place, the man's family has been notified of the discovery and is receiving support from specially trained officers. The authorities have stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Gboyega Odubanjo's family had previously expressed deep concern for their son's safety and well-being, as his disappearance was described as "entirely out of character."
