WHY OMOYELE SOWORE CANNOT WORK WITH LABOUR PARTY

Omoyele Sowore, a pro-democracy activist and former presidential candidate, recently explained his reluctance to collaborate with Peter Obi's Labour Party, citing ideological differences and questioning the party's commitment to revolutionary principles.

Omoyele Sowore, a pro-democracy activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, recently clarified his reasons for not aligning with Peter Obi's Labour Party (LP). In a brief video shared on Wednesday, Sowore expressed that his political beliefs diverge significantly from those of the LP, asserting that the LP, People's Democratic Party (PDP), and the All Progressives Congress (APC) share similar ideologies.

Sowore pointed out that he often engages in debates with LP members due to their visibility on social media, emphasizing that he perceives little distinction between the LP and the major political parties. He cited the lack of workers in the Labour Party, likening it to a temporary arrangement akin to short rentals. Sowore also criticized the LP's history, referencing the tenure of the former governor of Ondo State, Segun Mimiko, who was associated with the party.

Furthermore, Sowore highlighted his skepticism about the LP's commitment to revolutionary ideals. He mentioned that after the 2023 presidential election, he noticed the Labour Party trending with calls for revolution, implying that they were advocating for change after feeling cheated by the electoral system.

Sowore also drew attention to the potential policy decisions of leaders like Peter Obi, suggesting that if Obi had become President, he might have removed fuel subsidies. In contrast, Sowore emphasized his divergence from such ideologies, stating that he cannot collaborate with individuals or parties opposed to his core principles.

In conclusion, Sowore clarified his stance against working with the Labour Party, citing ideological differences and questioning the party's commitment to revolutionary ideals, while also emphasizing his contrasting political beliefs.
