MINISTER NYESOM WIKE ISSUES STERN WARNING TO KIDNAPPERS AND PROMISES ACTION ON INSECURITY IN FCT

Minister Nyesom Wike recently delivered a strong message to kidnappers and their collaborators during a security town hall meeting in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, issued a stern warning to kidnappers and their informants during the final leg of his security town hall meetings with stakeholders of the Area Councils. The meeting took place at the Kuje Area Council town hall in Kuje town. Wike emphasized the need for kidnappers and their informants to repent from their criminal activities or face the consequences at the hands of security agents in the territory.

Furthermore, the minister urged residents of the area to support security agencies by providing relevant information that could lead to the apprehension of kidnappers and criminals in the FCT. He also emphasized his administration's commitment to combating insecurity, stating that he had directed the council chairman to profile and establish vigilante groups.

Addressing the audience, Wike declared, "We are going to tackle insecurity head-on. These bandits and criminals, their time is up." He issued a direct warning to criminal informants, stating that they would face the same fate as the individuals they were informing on if they did not repent. He stressed the readiness of the authorities to confront criminal elements and urged residents to collaborate with security agencies by providing crucial information.

Wike also expressed surprise at the state of roads in the Area Council and promised to revisit the council's file to ensure the construction of better roads for the community. He assured the residents that necessary changes would be made and pledged to complete pending projects for the benefit of the community.

During the meeting, the Gomo of Kuje, Alhaji Haruna Jibrin, appealed to the minister for the establishment of either an Army or Mobile Police barracks in the Kuje village, an area where kidnappers were known to be active. He also pledged the support of the traditional rulers and the people of Kuje Area Council in the fight against insecurity.
