TRAILER DRIVER REPORTEDLY FALLS OFF LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY BRIDGE IN ACCIDENT

This news report details a recent incident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where an unnamed trailer driver reportedly fell off a bridge between Berger, Lagos State, and Isheri, Ogun State.

An unnamed trailer driver reportedly fell off the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway bridge between Berger, Lagos State, and Isheri, Ogun State, according to a police officer who spoke to PUNCH Online on Saturday. The incident occurred early in the morning, with a trailer crashing into the bridge, causing its front part to hang off the edge.

At the scene, both the Nigerian Police Force and the Federal Road Safety Corps were present to manage traffic and ensure the security of people and property. A police officer, who arrived at the scene shortly before speaking to the correspondent, mentioned that initial investigations suggested the driver fell off the bridge due to the accident. However, the cause of the accident and the whereabouts of the driver were still unknown at the time of reporting.

Efforts to gather information from eyewitnesses were unsuccessful, as no one was willing to provide details about the accident, the driver's whereabouts, or any potential casualties. This incident follows two separate crashes on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on New Year's Day, which resulted in two deaths and 10 injuries. One of the crashes occurred around Isara Remo, leading to the death of two passengers and injuries to three others. The injured were taken to Victory Hospital Ogere for treatment, while the deceased were placed in the Isara General Hospital morgue.
