SUPER EAGLES SECURE KNOCKOUT ROUND BERTH IN AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS WITH VICTORY OVER GUINEA BISSAU

Nigeria's national football team, the Super Eagles, have advanced to the knockout stage of the Africa Cup of Nations following their 1-0 win against Guinea Bissau.

Nigeria's Super Eagles have secured a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations knockout round after defeating Guinea Bissau 1-0. This victory placed Nigeria in second position with seven points, following Equatorial Guinea's 4-0 win against Ivory Coast, which secured their first-place position in the group.

During the match, there were several key moments. Nigeria's goalkeeper, Nwabali, made a crucial save, and there were instances of offside calls and disallowed goals. The game saw Nigeria's Osimhen connecting with a cross from Aina, resulting in a missed header, and a goal by Guinea Bissau being disallowed for offside.

The first half ended with Nigeria leading 1-0, while Equatorial Guinea was also ahead in their game against Ivory Coast. The match featured a cooling break and various attempts by both teams to score. Nigeria's starting lineup for the game included Nwabali, Aina, Bassey, Omeruo, Ajayi, Osayi-Samuel, Aribo, Onyeka, Chukwueze, Simon, and Osimhen.

Nigeria's journey in the AFCON had begun with a draw against Equatorial Guinea and a subsequent victory over Ivory Coast. Guinea Bissau, on the other hand, aimed to end their winless streak in the tournament and sought to challenge the Super Eagles, having previously defeated them in the AFCON qualifiers in 2023.
