SECURITY OPERATIONS YIELD SUCCESS IN COMBATING CRIMINAL ELEMENTS IN KADUNA STATE

Recent developments in Kaduna State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have highlighted the ongoing challenges posed by criminal elements, particularly in relation to banditry and kidnapping.

The Kajuru forest in the Southern Kaduna area of Kaduna State has become a haven for bandits and kidnappers, according to highly placed security sources. The forest is where the hoodlums are reportedly camped, and it has been the site of numerous criminal activities. Despite previous military efforts to address the situation, the area has seen a resurgence of criminal elements since the military's departure.

In a related development, the FCT Special Intervention Squad and the Intelligence Response Team have made significant arrests in connection with the recent abduction of 23 persons, including a family of six girls, in the FCT. The Nigerian Communications Commission, in collaboration with the NPF, has intercepted the bandits' communications, enabling the police to monitor their conversations and movements.

The scourge of abduction, previously confined to the North-West, has now spread nationwide, with bandits and criminal elements expanding their operations into major cities across the country. This escalation has led to increased security measures and operations in affected areas.

In a separate incident, the Kaduna State Police Command arrested a notorious kidnapper, Chinaza Phillip, in Kaduna. Phillip was apprehended along with his gang members while they were transporting a victim from Abuja to Kano State. The successful rescue of the victim and the arrest of Phillip were commended by the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Police Command, A. D. Ali, who urged the operatives to continue their efforts in pursuing criminal elements in the state.
