FORMER SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO ONDO STATE GOVERNOR RESIGNS FROM PDP DUE TO INTERNAL CRISIS

Former Special Assistant to the late governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, Allen Sowore, has made headlines with his departure from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Allen Sowore, a former Special Assistant to the late governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, on new media, has announced his departure from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Sowore, who previously served as an Adviser to the former Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, and as the Director of Media and Publicity in Ondo South Senatorial District during the 2023 General Election, cited the internal crisis within the party as the reason for his decision.

In his resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of PDP, Apoi Ward II in Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government of the State, Sowore expressed his concerns about the forthcoming governorship election and the ongoing turmoil within the PDP. The letter, titled “Resignation of Membership from the PDP,” stated, “I am writing to formally resign my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This decision comes as a precursor to the upcoming off-cycle election in Ondo State. After careful consideration, I believe it is time for a change in my political direction. This change is largely motivated by the persistent internal disputes within the PDP, which I find increasingly concerning."

Sowore concluded his letter by expressing his gratitude for the opportunities and experiences he gained during his time with the party and thanked the recipients for their understanding and support regarding his decision.
