During the Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service marking the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA Unity Church, Rayfield, Jos, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, reaffirmed his administration's dedication to providing the necessary resources and a conducive environment for the Armed Forces to effectively fulfill their constitutional duty of safeguarding the lives and property of citizens in the state.

Governor Mutfwang expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made by the nation's fallen heroes and heroines, acknowledging their selfless service and the ultimate price paid in the line of duty. He lamented the inadequate care provided to those who have served the nation and called for improved support for them, emphasizing the need for the nation to do better in looking after its veterans.

Describing the Armed Forces as a vital institution for Nigeria's survival, Governor Mutfwang urged for increased attention to issues that would enhance the morale of personnel and improve their capacity for selfless service. He advocated for a return to true professionalism within the armed forces and security agencies, emphasizing the potential benefits of such a transformation.

The sermon, delivered by Rev. Elisha McPhillips, drew from the book of Psalms 23, expressing confidence in God's guidance and the ability of the Nigerian Army to address the ongoing challenges of terrorism, armed banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities in the country. Additionally, Rev. Pandam Yamsat, the former President of the Church of Christ In Nations, COCIN, offered special prayers for the Nigeria Legions and the Armed Forces, seeking divine wisdom and knowledge for them in their task of safeguarding Plateau and the nation.
