CHAMPIONING ENDURANCE: DAUDA ABDULFATAI'S QUEST TO BREAK THE IRONING MARATHON RECORD

Meet Dauda Abdulfatai, a man on a mission to break the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous ironing marathon.

Dauda Abdulfatai has taken on the ambitious challenge of a 200-hour ironing marathon with the aim of surpassing the current Guinness World Record held by Gareth Sander of the UK, who ironed continuously for 100 hours. Dauda commenced his marathon on Wednesday morning at Off Ajaokuta Road, Ganaja Village, Lokoja, Kogi State, after receiving confirmation from the Guinness World Records via mail.

As of now, Dauda has successfully completed 80 hours out of the proposed 200-hour marathon. His ultimate goal is to break the existing record of 100 hours held by Gareth Sander of the United Kingdom. Gareth Sanders, a 28-year-old cleaning company manager, set the current world record for non-stop ironing in 2015, ironing around 2,000 items and maintaining his efforts for nearly 100 hours.

It's worth noting that last year, Nigerian chef Hilda Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, achieved the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with an impressive time of 93 hours and 11 minutes. Dauda's determination to break the existing record is a testament to the spirit of perseverance and dedication.
