In the women's singles at the Brisbane International, Aryna Sabalenka secured a spot in the final by defeating Victoria Azarenka with a score of 6-2, 6-4. She will face Elena Rybakina, the world number four, in a rematch of their 2023 Australian Open final. Sabalenka has a 5-2 lead in their head-to-head encounters, including a three-set victory in last year's Australian Open final, which marked her first Grand Slam title. Despite Sabalenka's lead, their matches have been closely contested, with five of their seven meetings going to three sets.

 

Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, advanced to the final by defeating Czech teenager Linda Noskova 6-3, 6-2. She showcased a strong serving performance, delivering eight aces and not dropping serve on her way to the final. Sabalenka acknowledged Rybakina's strong serving and aggressive playing style, emphasizing the pressure they both put on each other during their matches.

 

In the men's draw, top seed Holger Rune secured a place in the final after defeating Russia's Roman Safiullin. Rune, the world number eight, absorbed Safiullin's powerful shots and won the match. He expressed excitement for the final and the upcoming Australian Open.
