Nine years after the passing of the former Ngolong Ngas, Nde Joshua Dimlong, the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, conducted the coronation of a new Ngolong Ngas, Nde Jika Golit, and presented him with the staff of office and certificate at the Pankshin Township Stadium. The event was attended by prominent members of the Ngas nation and well-wishers.

Governor Mutfwang commended the Ngas nation for the peaceful selection process of the new Ngolong Ngas and cautioned against unnecessary legal actions that could hinder the selection and installation of traditional rulers in the state. He emphasized the importance of the occasion, especially in the wake of recent tragic events, and expressed the government's commitment to filling all vacant traditional stools in the state.

The Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Area, Hon. Samuel Go’ar, expressed pride in the fortification of the Ngas people's foundation with the appointment of a new paramount leader, ensuring that their actions will now be guided by their collective interest.

The Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, also the Chairman of Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, congratulated the new Ngolong Ngas and urged politicians to refrain from interfering in traditional institution matters. He stressed the importance of allowing the selection process to proceed once the ruling house and kingmakers have confirmed the appointment as Gazetted.

In response, the new Ngolong Ngas, Nde Jika Golit, expressed gratitude to his people and Governor Mutfwang for their support. He pledged to involve everyone in promoting peaceful coexistence during his reign.
