Following an incident where a tenant, Chris Okoye, allegedly assaulted his landlord, a Kabusa Grade I Area Court in Abuja ordered the remand of the accused. The presiding judge, Malam Abubakar Sadiq, made this decision after hearing the defendant's plea. Okoye, residing at 2A Niger Avenue Villa Nova, Apo, is facing charges of criminal conspiracy, intimidation, force, assault, and causing hurt. Despite the allegations, he pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

According to the prosecutor, O. S. Osho, the landlord, Mr. Ochengele Isaac, reported the matter at the Apo Police Station on January 3. Osho stated that Okoye, along with his two children and another individual named Gideon, who is currently at large, allegedly assaulted and caused injuries to the landlord. The prosecutor also mentioned that the defendant's two children and Gideon are currently evading authorities.

The case has been adjourned until January 16 for a hearing, as ruled by Judge Sadiq.
