President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of new Executive Directors for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). The announcement was made in a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Thursday. These two agencies fall under the purview of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

The newly appointed Executive Directors for NPA are Ms. Vivian C. Richard Edet, who will serve as the Executive Director for Finance & Administration, Engr. Olalekan Badmus, appointed as the Executive Director for Marine & Operations, and Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar, who will assume the role of Executive Director for Engineering & Technical Services.

For NIMASA, the new Executive Directors are Mr. Jibril Abba, who will oversee Maritime Labour & Cabotage Services, Mr. Chudi Offodile, appointed as the Executive Director for Finance & Administration, and Engr. Fatai Taye Adeyemi, who will serve as the Executive Director for Operations.

The statement emphasized that the President approved these appointments based on the impressive profiles of the new appointees. It is believed that they will efficiently execute their collective mandate to enhance the Marine & Blue Economy sector's contribution to the nation's GDP. This aligns with the goal of evolving the Nigerian economy into a labor-intensive and inclusive one, creating new opportunities for all Nigerians. These efforts are in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, under the guidance of the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola.
