FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EXTENDS FREE TRAIN RIDE OFFER AND WAIVES INTERSTATE TRANSPORT FEES

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced an extension of the free train ride offer for passengers utilizing the Nigerian Railway Corporation's commuter services until Sunday, January 7.

The Federal Government has decided to extend the free train ride offer for all passengers using the Nigerian Railway Corporation's commuter services until Sunday, January 7. This extension comes after the initial announcement of the free train ride, which commenced on Thursday, December 21, 2023, following a directive from President Bola ... ... ... Tinubu.

Originally, the free ride services were scheduled to end on Thursday, January 4, 2024. However, the government has now extended this offer to provide continued relief to commuters.

This decision to extend the free train rides follows the Federal Government's earlier announcement of a 50 percent waiver on interstate round-trip transport and free train rides. These measures are part of the government's efforts to alleviate the financial burden on citizens, particularly during the Yuletide season.
