Chelsea is reportedly prepared to allow their striker Romelu Lukaku, who has expressed his desire to leave, to go out on loan. The club has been unable to reach an agreement for a permanent transfer. Football journalist David Orsten has stated that Chelsea would consider a loan deal if it either includes an obligation for the buying club to make the transfer permanent or if it's a straightforward loan arrangement that involves a significant fee.

Several clubs have shown interest in signing Lukaku following this development. Among them are Barcelona, Juventus, Roma, and teams from the Saudi Pro League. Lukaku's career journey includes an initial signing with Chelsea as a young player from Anderlecht in 2011 for around €12 million. After a loan stint that involved West Brom, he moved to Everton on a permanent deal. In 2021, he rejoined Chelsea from Inter Milan for a substantial fee of £97.5 million.

Lukaku's time at Chelsea has been marked by ups and downs. In December 2021, he sparked controversy by criticizing the tactics of the then-coach, Thomas Tuchel, which led to him being excluded from the team. Subsequently, he returned to Inter Milan on a season-long loan for the 2022-23 season. During his loan spell at Inter Milan, Lukaku managed to score 14 goals in 37 appearances, showcasing his talent and contribution on the field.
