The chairman of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Fatai Adams, has been suspended by nine members of the state working committee of the party.

The chairman of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Fatai Adams, has been suspended by nine members of the state working committee of the party. The suspension letter, signed by the deputy state chairman, state secretary, state organizing secretary, vice chairman (South), vice chairman (Central), legal adviser, financial secretary, treasurer, and state publicity secretary, accused Adams of engaging in anti-party activities.

According to the statement released by the committee members, the suspension is in line with section 58(1b. c, f. h. and i) of the PDP Constitution as amended in 2017. The committee cited Adams' alleged anti-party activities and engaging in actions that could tarnish the party's reputation as the reasons for his suspension. They have advised him to appear before the State Disciplinary Committee of the party for further questioning within the next week.

The committee also emphasized the party's commitment to dealing decisively with any attempts by the ruling party, the APC, to infiltrate its ranks. At the time of the announcement, the suspended chairman was unavailable for comment.

Further details will be provided as they become available.
