The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) welcomed six new members in compliance with the directives of its National Executive Committee (NEC). In a recent move, NEC had delegated some of its authority to the NWC, enabling the party's administrative body to fill vacant NWC and zonal positions.

During a media briefing held at the APC National Secretariat, the Party’s National Secretary, Sen. Ajibola Basiru, announced the introduction of the new officials. Among the appointees are Ali Bukar Dalori (Borno State) as the Deputy National Chairman, North; Garba Datti Muhammad (Kaduna State) as the National Vice Chairman, North West; Prof. Abdul Karim Abubakar Kana (Nasarawa State) as the National Legal Adviser; Donatus Nwankpa (Abia State) as the National Welfare Secretary; Mary Alile Idele, PhD (Edo State) as the National Woman Leader; and Duro Meseko (Kogi State) as the Deputy National Publicity Secretary. Additionally, Ikani Shuaibu Okolo (Kogi State) assumes the role of Zonal Organizing Secretary for the North Central Zonal chapter of the party.

Basiru emphasized that these officials were elected in accordance with the party's constitution, not appointed. He further stated that their ratification would not be required in any future national convention, affirming the legitimacy of their positions.
